The U.S. CDC is recommending that all people, regardless of vaccination status, wear face coverings in indoor, public settings in areas with “substantial” or “high” levels of community transmission of COVID-19.
Monhegan Plantation, as part of Lincoln County, is currently
in the HIGH risk category. Knox County is also in the HIGH risk category.
Given the remote location and very minimal healthcare resources on Monhegan Island, the community and visitors are strongly encouraged to follow the US CDC recommendations whenever Lincoln and/or Knox County is in the “Substantial” or “High” risk category.
The U.S. CDC COVID Data Tracker is available to stay up-to-date on the risk status of all counties in Maine, as well as all counties across the United States. It is updated daily by 8 pm. https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#county-view
